Insulating Properties of Snow

By bizdatausa
April 19, 2010

Do NOT attempt to remove snow from broadleaf evergreens such as Boxwoods, Hollies or Rhododendron. This will be likely to cause further damage. The snow will insulate the foliage. In the spring, the damaged plants should be evaluated and hopefully with some corrective pruning will be back on track. Our expert maintenance crews have the keen eye needed properly prune and salvage what may appear to be a lost cause. In the unfortunate event that the plant is not salvageable we will recommend a replacement.
